Nevada CAM and Nexar's collective goal is, by 2022, to generate data covering 250 million miles of road on a weekly basis. Throughout the partnership, Nevada CAM and Nexar will work together to identify additional opportunities with state, city, and private vehicle fleets as well as consumers to expand the V2V network.

To facilitate the project, Nevada CAM recently formed
a unique partnership with Nexar outlining six key goals:

Bring new jobs and business activity to Nevada

Introduce a systems to support Nevada transportation and infrastructure management

Offer enhanced fleet management capabilities to state and local fleets

Accelerate the adoption of autonomous vehicles with V2V communication

Research

Collaborate on "Smart Transportation" research projects with Nevada Research Institutes

Enabling Technology

Nexar implements two primary technologies
in service of the project participants

Computer Vision

Nexar users artificial intelligence to provide life-saving alerts. Using the most advanced computer vision algorithms, the application is always on the lookout for approaching dangers in its field of view.

Cellular V2V Communication

Each vehicle using the Nexar software sends nearby vehicles safety messages to alert of imminent collisions even beyond the drivers’ field of view. Every additional car that joins the Nexar V2V network makes it safer and smarter.

Fleet Sign Up

Nevada CAM is currently recruiting vehicle fleets to participate in the project.
